Week 3: Monday 08.05

Presentation and Critique:

We presented our refined web pages:

And our storyboards for both motion graphics:

We are focusing on the nostalgia of beloved Disney characters for our target audience of millennials, and putting them in very real and horrifying situations to illustrate the disastrous effect that plastic bags in our oceans are having on marine life and their environment.

Our motion graphic is going to continue in the Disney theme, using the two characters (Ariel and Flounder) to represent marine life. We will keep the darker colours that we have in our webpage, contrasting with the bright, Disney colours of the characters. We want our transitions to zoom in of a focal point in a slide, and bring up the scene in the next slide.

Our feedback was that Flounder in a bag isn't as jarring as Ariel with her skeleton tail, and to work on making him less cartoony (at the moment he's just upside-down) and try and make him a bit more messed up.

We also need to bring Ariel into our graphic more. She is a main feature on our first web page so we would like to incorporate her into our motion graphic.

Going forward, we will refine our storyboards and work Ariel into our narrative.
