Week 1: Monday 24.04

Our overarching theme is Waste. We have decided to explore the topic of plastic pollution in our oceans, with a focus on the problem in New Zealand. Our Small Action/Big Impact is focusing on using alternatives to single-use plastic bags.

Our target audience for this project is Millennials. We have chosen this group as Millennials are one of the largest consumer groups, along with being one of the largest users of the internet and social media. This buying power combined with a strong online presence, and a tendency to be more liberal and open to change than older generations makes Millennials a very powerful audience. Millennials are the next leaders, and the motivation for change comes from the top. These are the people we feel will be the biggest instigators for change in the immediate future.

Our homework was to create a moodboard to explore our design style and to find examples of great websites and motion graphics. We have included examples of these below.

Motion Graphics:

This one works very effectively with a minimal colour palette

Again, restricted colour palette and nice use of geometric shapes

Nice transitions, good pace, and simple, easy to follow graphics

Clever, with a nice use of geometric shapes, transitions, and again, the minimal colour palette

Nice use of centralised circle
